Jadeveon Clowney Goes First in NFL Draft


Jadeveon Clowney is the first pick in the NFL draft. The Houston Texans picked the South Carolina defensive end at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Clowney was widely considered the best overall player in the 79th NFL Draft.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was booed loudly when he took the stage at the beginning of the night to begin the draft.

For the second pick the St. Louis Rams took Greg Robinson, an offensive tackle from Auburn.

Next, the Jacksonville Jaguars chose Blake Bortles, a quarterback from the University of Central Florida. Johnny Manziel or Johnny Football, who many analysts considered the best quarterback in the draft, was passed over for the first QB pick.

The Buffalo Bills, who traded for the fourth pick—giving their 9th pick for this draft as well as a 1st-round pick and 4th-round pick for the 2015 draft to Cleveland Browns—went with Sammy…
